Conversations tend to respond to a story's content, so often when receiving a mail about a conversation, you would also like to see the story before you respond. This should be easier to do then it is now.

When receiving mail of the "he mentioned you" type , it is quite a long way from there to the story this conversation responded to. The name of the story appears, but with no link.

In the conversation itself, clicking on the supposed story link opens another tab with the conversation (that is - it brings you back to where you were, which is kind of useless), rather than the story. Using the 'details' link on the side gets you there eventually, but the main link could have been used for that and be more obvious for the user.

Comments

  • Couldn't agree more that the current implementation is entirely user un-friendly. Seems pretty simple to include the hyperlink to the Story, whose name is already 'mentioned' in the email, rather than just the name without a link.

  • I'd also like to see this implemented. It would avoid a lot of confusion.

  • The link in conversation to the story is completely misleading. User can always create a conversation from story (by Starting new conversation), but going back to story is a real lack in current solution.

  • Please address this soon.

  • Direct asset links are included in conversation emails as of the Winter 12 point release (12.1.2.3278).
