As a product owner, Id like to incorporate a branded version of Ideaspace into my product, so that I can gather direct feedback from my customers in context, and have that information fed directly into our VersionOne instance, so that we may efficiently gather product ideas and suggestions without having to rely on external tools.

  • Agreed. To expand on Lee's recommendation I would say it needs to allow non-authenticated users access. The person recommending should be able to select a product/project then submit their recommendation/FMR.

  • I like that fact that people need to be authenticated... otherwise the voting and submissions could get out of hand. Creating an account was very easy.

As for extending it... if VersionOne wrote the code, they could just publish it open source for others to install and use. If they bought it and customized it, then they aren't in a place to offer it to others.

  • This is exactly the challenge/opportunity we are facing -- whether to introduce tools from other vendors into the ideation loop that feeds V1, or ideally get to an all-V1 solution. (Yes, we may want to do some kind of SSO for our customers to identify their input.)

Can V1 folks comment on whether you envision making your Ideas platform available to us in the future? Thanks so much!

  • V1:Ideas is now available to V1:Enterprise customers to help drive their product direction... “With our new idea management platform, extending the agile lifecycle directly to the customer is finally a simple reality.”
