Be able to create read-only custom fields or disable fields in certain situations

I would like to be able to create a field in VersionOne that is read-only from the UI (or maybe only editable by certain users) but editable via the API. This will help us with integrations between other systems.

  • We definitely need this capability to help with integration between tools. Our use is with Serena Dimensions, we need to display data in VersionOne that comes from Dimensions, and we plan to periodically update this information from Dimensions. We do not want users to edit the data in VersionOne because the data will be overwritten when we refresh data from Dimensions.

  • Same here. We have custom fields updated with data from the API from other tools and want to make sure they cant be modified through the GUI or accidentally changed by a user.
