The email sent when conversations are updated include only the single comment. Instead, they should consist of all of the comments (up to a perhaps configurable limit) so that the user can get the context of the conversation. Just below the last comment, the card itself should be included. This will prevent the user from having to click a link to find out more about the card.

If most conversations in your DB are < 10 comments or so, then I don't see any need for a configuration parameter to limit their length.

Comments

  • The conversation emails do need some scrubbing. Way too many people (non-developers) complain about just receiving the new comment with no context.

  • It should also include the following:
    - story #
    - title
    - current status
    - priority

    It would also be nice to see what other people and stories have been tagged in that comment.

  • Conversation notifications were updated in the Spring 2014 release to include the entire conversation thread and all mentioned assets for full context.
