As the user who controls the taskboard within our team, I would like to be able to limit the amount of work allowed in each column (kanban style) so that my team can effectively manage their work in progress.
- allow admin to set limits for each column on taskboard
- when limit is reached in column, user should not be able to drag tasks into that column

I support this, except instead of a hard limit, make it a "big red label". I don't want to block User A from moving Item A just because lazy User B hasn't moved Item B. I don't like tools that restrict, I prefer them to enable. By using an indicator, it enables the tool to support the limits that have been set.
I like this idea since I'm running a Kanban board (outside the V1 system)
I agree with make it just a visual indicator, not a block. Also, when you add this, change your site to say you support kanban it as a lean technique. - Jon Stahl, LeanDog
WIP Limits are implemented on the Storyboard in the Summer 2009 Release. When the limits are exceeded, the system alerts the user but does not prevent the change from being made.
