• Sounds great! But I would put priority on the emails for notifications first since they are on active backlog items and ideas are for future items.

• It should be possible to "watch" an issue, indicating you wish to receive notifications. This would allow any interested parties to be notified of changes.

• +1 Also... Add the ability for notifications up the project hierarchy so I can watch, say, an epic, and be notified when any of its children have changes (specifically discussion items) added.

• RSS feed too so users can get a feed of new ideas and changes to idea status or comments

• The importatnt point is the the requestor user might not be a VersionOne user. They should still be notified by e-mail of any changes.

• The idea notifications added in Spring 2013 include emails to the original requestor, assuming the requestor also voted for the idea.
