As a VersionOne Administrator, I want to be able to add multi-line custom fields (rich text) so that I can store and read long strings of data from within the application. Right now, a text box is the only option available to me.
For example, we have some custom fields for tracking defects that are regressions (worked in last version for customers, but we broke it in a subsequent version). One field is a drop-down list: Regression Root Cause. Another field is a Regression Root Cause Notes field, where development explains the regression in detail so that we can prevent the same type of error from occuring in the future. Right now, this can only be a single-line string, but we'd like a long field, like the Resolution Details field that's currently on Defects as default. This field would be used by all of our scrum teams using VersionOne across the enterprise.

Since Agile process is implemented different in different companies and we are looking for more flexibility in customization of fields and columns. One of the frequently used Custom Fields is " Multiline" Rich Edit Control that makes our life very easy in managing our stories easy.
This is very important to us as well. We need to create multi-line custom fields (like the Description field in backlog items -- preferably in rich text) to capture separately things like Acceptance Criteria. (VersionOne competitors have offered this functionality for years.)
Also note that this request is the same as "When a custome field is defined, it should be possible to define it as a multiline field" so those votes should be moved to this one.
We also have a need for this to capture Customer Facing Descriptions for release notes. It's a good general facility that allows users to tailor the tool to their specific needs.
The Winter 2011 release offers the ability to create multi-line, rich text custom fields. These fields provide the same formatting capabilities as standard rich text fields, such as Description fields. They are created in the admin pages in the same way as other custom fields and are further customizable within project workspaces.
