In Firefox 3, by default the browser opens a new tab, and doesn’t give it focus. That means that you have to notice the new tab, and then go click on it before you can do anything in the new window. Better behavior would be to use a popup DIV like the Add New Members command does, or a new section like the Add Task command under Plan Story.

Comments

  • I'd like popups to honor the browser settings. Currently, because all asset links target a window named "Assets," it's very difficult to have any control over the windows. It's especially difficult to compare the details of two assets.

  • Links honor the browser settings when used with the Control or Shift keys as of the Spring 2011 release. Asset links, by default, open in a lightbox when no lightbox is already shown. However, holding Ctrl and clicking the asset will open it in its own tab.
