I want to be able to convert a backlog item to a defect and vice versa.

  • If you mean convert a story to a defect or a defect to a story then YES!

  • Yeah, and also the ability to turn a backlog item into a request. You can turn a request into a backlog item, but not the other way around. I guess it doesn't happen much in common scenarios, but I had to convert 300 items by hand. It was not awesome.

  • Conversion between stories (aka backlog items) and defects is now available in the Summer 2009 Release. The case for defects was clear. Feel free to start another idea for conversion between requests and stories/backlog items and we'll monitor the support for that separately.
