As a version one user i would like the title of grids to stay visible while scrolling down in the list.

the users will benefit from this since:
1. they will be able to keep track on the columns they are seeing
2. they will be able to decide to edit a column or sort by it without loosing the place they are in
3. they will have a quick access to mas operations available in the title
4. when the grid content is updating - the only indication of the update is displayed on the title - the users will have a better visibility as to the fact that a refresh is being done

Comments

  • This is badly needed, our user community has raised this to us on many occasion.

  • Same thing applies to storyboard, taskboard and testboard. When you have many items to show, you will likely be obligated to scroll down the board, making difficult to know in which column you are unless you go back to the top. Allowing the user to freeze the column headers would be a great improvement in usability, especially in these situations:
    - Teams using kanban (for whom WIP limits are an essential information that should remain visible all the time when you look at the board)
    - Storyboards with 3 or more swimlanes (any team member working in the bottom swimlane needs this)

  • I cannot beleive this was not a standard feature. Please implement as soon as possible.

  • I agree - badly needed. I would like to also suggest that the header / navigation area could be shrunk. Take a look at scrolling an item in Jira. The top area fades away when you scroll down. This is really important in a team room where the top area is useless information when you start really focusing on the stories or tasks. Let that top area scroll off the screen, then have the column headers freeze on the top of the screen.

  • Isn't this the same as this request:
    https://ideaspace.versionone.com/default/Idea/Detail/1092

  • This idea is number 571 and the one you pointed at is number 1092 - so I would say that the other one is a duplication of this one.

  • I very much agree, needed badly

  • This feature is a must. With many stories and columns, it can quickly become difficult to tell which column you are in (after you've scrolled down some on the storyboard). One could make the case that the project should be split into multiple scrum teams with separate boards...but this feature would still be useful for each team.

  • To be clear, titles on grids and boards should freeze, not just grids.

  • This is very much needed. I am very surprised that this is not a part of the standard\delivered features. Please add this as soon as possible. Thanks!

  • This is very much needed. When you have lots of stories, you can't see the heading and tell which column the story is in.

  • I agree with Jenny C.

  • Freezing the row for the column headers will be a great feature enhancements so that the user can easily see the header for the drop and drag mouse effect.

  • Our user community also needs this. Pls implement this!

  • We are constantly having to scroll up and down the page to figure out which status a specific story/task is falling into, which can be really confusing, especially over screen share. Please implement this enhancement.

  • As of the Fall 2015 release, the Save and Cancel buttons on grids, boards and items are "sticky" and do not scroll off, making it easier to see that there are unsaved changes and quicker to find the Save button to save changes.
