I would like to be able to control the order of custom fields in the edit dialog, so that they can appear in context with the other fields that the are related to. Currently, the are in a group at the bottom.

At a minimum, a way to either designed another field to "show after", or a complete way to order all fields list the other list manipulation action would be nice.

  • It would be nice to be able to order all fields, not just custom fields.

  • I agree with Daniel, you should be able to order all fields. As a user and administrator of V1, I have seen many users become confused by the layout. Ordering the full screen including the custom fields would improve usability for my customers.

  • This is extremely important for us as well. Yes we have added to many custom fields, but that cannot be prevented. What can be controlled is the visualisation and sequencing of these custom fields in V1 :\)

  • Extremely important to CoreLogic as well.

  • It's so odd that a sortorder isn't available. Something like this should be very simple to implement. I doubt the order would need to be project-specific (I wouldn't need that) so just allowing us to put one sort order that applies to each workitem type across projects would be a quick win.

  • Please implement the ability to sort all fields in an edit dialog box, not just the custom fields.

  • We have some required custom fields and we would like these brought to the top and have all orders re-arranged. We need more functionality like this throughout.

  • Often times custom fields are added to be associated with existing fields. It would be nice to be able to group them in the same area on the form instead of having them be at the bottom.

  • That would be a great feature for us as well.

And additionally the order of the fields in "view dialogs" should be also controllable.

  • This would make for a much more fluid user experience. Thanks!

  • We REALLY need the ability to order custom fields in relation to the OOB fields, as well. It's frustrating to have all custom fields displayed at the bottom rather than being able to order them into a logical flow in the input & display order that is most helpful to us.

  • An ubsolutely necessary feature! I feel so restricted! Help!

  • One additional thought as long as I am reminded of this idea... What about the ability to have a "back page" of fields? Many of the fields on our Issues are administrative, record keeping, etc (defect analysis, etc). These do not need to be on the front page of the issue. Having another tab with this additional information (and being able to order it) would really slim down the view when looking at Issues.

  • Please add the ability to sort Custom fields. We have several custom fields (to placate waterfall folks) and they appear out of order on the page.

  • Business driven order of fields is key to achieving consistent practices, workflow, and proper attention to important details. Currently, important, business driven, custom fields at the bottom of a form are deemed less important and are ignored. And mandatory fields at the bottom of a form cause angst when an item is saved and the user has to respond to an error message and go hunting for the fields they didn't fill in. This change is key to making VersionOne scale in organizations with lots of diverse teams.

  • We can't consider VersionOne until we can arrange all the fields, both standard and custom, and can arrange them in columns as well. I believe other agile tools do this. Drag-and-drop layout and field sizing would be ideal.

  • This would be really useful to have.

  • Any word on this. Super useful. Original idea was submitted over a year ago.

  • I am interested In this as well.

  • Same here, would be very useful for us.

  • The Fall 2014 release supports controlling the order that custom fields are presented in read-only and add/edit pages. The custom fields have also been moved up toward the top of those pages such that they're easily accessible without scrolling.
