If I use the storyboard in a KANBAN fashion, I can set WIP limits based on status. Currently V1 displays the limit in the column header in parentheses (e.g. "[5]"). I would like to also see what the actual/current item count is. Especially for larger numbers, that would be very helpful (e.g. "[9]/[10]" - 9 out of 10).

Comments

  • The lack of this is very annoying - I know of I'm over the limit but I don't know how many I need to remove!

I would suggest the display be "[9/10]" rather than "[9]/[10]".

  • Would love to see this

  • Seems like a no-brainer to me. It should also be trivial to implement.

  • I couldn't agree more. Alternatively, seeing the number of items within each swimlane would be helpful, as well.

  • This would be a great feature. Very helpful in managing the Storyboard.

  • Please do this - it is simple to implement and helps teams know how much over limit they are. I am product owner for a team that is very large and uses Kanban. I can't tell how many stories are in play without switching to Detail Tracking or some other view.

  • Agreed. I want to quickly know how many items are in each status in Storyboard view. My WIP limit covers multiple statuses, so I would like to add the option to show total count for selected WIP area AND for each status individually.
