there should be a way to changes the amount of space the convesation is taking on the detailes pop-up like widening it or narrowing it.
maybe to change it's location to the bottom of the page

I often paste error stack traces into the "discussions" tab for reference and now they appear to take up the whole page and I can't get rid of it. My defect details are squished into a 2" space while the rest of the width of the page is the stack trace. Very annoying.
This is a horrible feature...it wastes too much space on the page and prevents you from printing anything in a usable form...it is all scrunched up in the left half of the page. Very, very annoying.
Apologies for the inconvenience. We're working on a new design that will address your needs of providing more space for item details while still making conversations conveniently available.
It would be nice if you could have a printable view of the details that did not include the conversation.
Maybe make it collapsable like the project selection area on the left side of the main screen.
In the meantime, users that are using firefox can install the Stylish plugin and configure this custom sytle:
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
@-moz-document domain(pwvone01), domain(pwvone01.cscinfo.com) {
.asset-stream { display: none };
}
oops, forgot to mention. you will need to update the domain to domain name of your versionone machine on your network for the above to work
I have the same issue. We are now getting many complaints from users that conversations are taking up half the screen and making the system difficult to use.
Shouldn't the summary page show everything - including the conversations while the details page should only show the asset details? I think the old model where the Notes/Discussions had their own page was fine. Put a little icon on the details page if necessary that is like a "new mail" icon but for "new conversations."
From a product owner (I am skipping the user story and going straight to the Conditions of satisfaction)
1. Turn conversations on/off per project by the project admin
2. Ability to collapse conversations within a project where the conversation is active.
3. Reduce/ reposition conversations spacing
4. Allow formatting of text
5. Allow conversation to be emailed and searched
6. Printing of conversations text
The Fall '10 point release contains key updates for conversations within asset details pages. When there are no conversations mentioning an asset, then that asset's details page will devote the full page width to the details. When there are conversations then they are shown in a tighter design, and the user can choose to collapse the conversations to allow full page width to the asset details. These design improvements apply to screen and print layouts.
The improvements were introduced in point release 10.3.638.0
