The Burn Up bar chart provides a report of the amount of work added to a release versus the amount of work completed in absolute terms of story points. As such it is the best tool to use to monitor total scope variation for an Agile project . While the difference between completed work and work remaining will vary, the indicator of the burn up view is if the total height of the two bars increases. A change represents either an increase or decrease in total scope.
