When navigating between primary funtional areas, such as "Product Planning" and "Sprint Planning", V1 does an initial load to the grid based on the last selected sub-menu of the destination function. Rather than doing this initial load every time, it is suggested that the load occur only after a sub-menu item is selected. This would allow the navigation to go much quicker, especially for projects with large numbers of backlog items. It is often the case that the last sub-menu item selected may not be the area the user is wanting to view when changing between primary functional areas.

Comments

  • I'm not sure why this is a request... I find I can click on a sub-nav before the grid is fully loaded (at least in FF) and it will immediately go there. I wouldn't want the delay every time since I can click the navigation anyway.

Is this a browser issue instead of a platform issue?

  • Drop-down navigation menus alleviate this problem as of the Spring 2011 release. Hovering over a primary menu item exposes a drop-down navigation menu of all of the pages available under that primary area, allowing direct access to anywhere in the application.
