Azure DevOps plugin is in need of a refresh.
Specifically it would be good to be able to send parameter values to ADO using the queue build task rather than just runtime variables. The guidance on best practice from Microsoft is to use parameters.
Also the plugin still refers to the application as VSTS/TFS despite it being rebranded in 2018 so I suspect there is more of a general refresh / update of the plugin required.

Just to add that also a lot of the tasks types in the plug-in relate to the "Classic Release" approach and it is mow the recommended approach to adopt YAML based pipelines.
Thank you for the request!
This is a great feedback and we are willing to plan this after the Denali release (October, 2023).
We would like to have dedicated session with you and our product manager Anil to understand in more detail on the use cases pertaining to the APIs and YAML based pipelines.

This idea implementation will entail architectural changes. We are currently planning to explore and execute it within the Fuji release timeframe. Any alterations to the schedule will be communicated in this thread.
This change is now available in 24.3 release.
All the relevant changes are available in this version and the plugin name was updated: https://dist.xebialabs.com/customer/xl-release/plugins/xlr-azure-devops-integration/24.3.0/
