We are in the process of upgrading our Release instance to version 24.1, which requires an upgrade to Java 17. During our preparations, we discovered that Slack and Confluence community plugins are not compatible with Java 17:
1. https://github.com/xebialabs-community/xlr-slack-plugin
2. https://github.com/xebialabs-community/xlr-confluence-plugin
These plugins are widely used within our organization, and many of our processes depend on their functionality. As such, it is crucial for us to ensure these plugins work seamlessly with the new version of Release before we proceed with the upgrade.
We believe that officially supporting these popular community plugins (Slack and Confluence) would not only benefit our organization but also enhance the overall user experience for many of your current customers. Additionally, incorporating these plugins as official offerings could potentially increase the market share of your product by attracting more users who rely on these tools.
Thank you for considering our request. We look forward to your positive response.

We will start investigating the Slack and Confluence Community plugins after October 2024, as part of the 25.1 release cycle, with plans to backport the changes to version 24.1. We will provide updates on our progress in this thread.
This change is planned for 25.1 release in Q2 of 2025.
