The current Teams plugin uses a non-interactive username/password authentication flow. Since the plugin cannot perform the interactive MFA step during this authentication flow, the connection cannot be established.

Using only the Client ID, Client Secret, and Tenant ID is also not currently supported for the plugin's regular chat message operations, as these operations require delegated Microsoft Graph permissions.

Supporting an authentication flow that allows MFA to be completed interactively and then uses a refresh token for subsequent authentication would require an enhancement to the current plugin.

Can we have the MFA authentication supported on MS Teams plugin.
